Last few sessions of print & bookmaking @The Welly in Hartlepool

19 May

The group of young people and youth workers at the Welly in Hartlepool are gearing up for the final stages of the Fabulous Books Fantastic Places project and have been making some mini books with their off cut prints.  Its an excellent way to re-cycle those ‘not quite finished prints’ or ‘that print didn’t come out exactly the way I planned!’

The work will be exhibited as part of the  BALTIC Artist’s Book Fair  June 14th & 15th and be on display until 23rd June

The group have been tackling silk screen printing, understanding layers and registration techniques.  In bookmaking, we have tried Japanese Stab Bound, pamphlet stitch and more recently some paper folding techniques.
